About the service

The service is widely deployed throughout the US, UK and Europe with over 2 million users across 5,000 organizations benefiting from email protection. In independent testing by West Coast Labs in January 2007, the service had a spam detection rate of 99% with zero false positives.


How the service works

The service is hosted at the Internet level and requires no software or hardware to be installed, configured or maintained. Management is via a web interface offering comprehensive control, monitoring and reporting. As the service filters SMTP email, it is fully compatible with all email systems including Exchange, GroupWise and Lotus Notes.

Implementation is by changing the MX records for the domain name(s) to be filtered to route email via the service. Emails are then scanned in accordance to your defined email policy and then delivered to your email servers (average latency of 0.75 of a second).

Unwanted emails are removed allowing only the legitimate emails through to the customer.

Emails that enter the managed email filtering service are scanned in a logical manner in accordance with the policy for the customer. This policy can be modified by customers’ administrators.

Graphical Reporting and Analysis

Detailed on-line reporting and analysis of email traffic is provided. From the web based control panel, traffic flow can be viewed, with a breakdown of spam and virus related email volume:
